I was going to write a post much similar to the meaning of this song, about how what we do and what we say can last longer than ourselves but We Came As Romans did me one better. So just go listen to this instead!

I actually had a conversation with a classmate i found online, about how we both ended up where we are. She stated that it seemed we’d both made bad decisions and wondered what I regretted most. I told her I didn’t really regret anything. There were some choices I could’ve done better at, but the sum total put me here, where I could reach out and find folks all around the world – if my life had gone more to plan, I would’ve been wrapped up in my own little world in suburbia, and would most likely never gotten to know all the interesting folk I know. And, by extension, I now have a greater outlet for my words, and though most of them are silly crap, I have said a few things I hope live on – regardless of whether anybody remembers me or not.

(And yes, included among those interesting people is a certain college-age punk I ran across while talking to Brainrants. You might know him – lousy taste in music, makes irritating comments, wise WAY beyond his years….
Cool fellow. I enjoy his company.
Well said though. It’s honestly been a hard year and a half for me, for reasons I couldn’t change, but here’s to a brighter 2013!
If it makes you feel better, the hard times in my life gave me some of my best stories. If you want an example, I had a gun stuffed into my ear once. For the full details, go to http://doggysstyle.wordpress.com/ and look for the entry “FOID You!”. (It was a guest post.)
I mean it wouldn’t surprise me if you named your own blog that…just saying.
Knowing you.
The fact that you can be so reflective as a young man makes me confident you’ll have a bright future. So many people your age (and mine) walk around with their heads up their asses. You’ve demonstrated more maturity in a single blog post than I’ve seen in some so-called grown men lately.
I appreciate that, Ellis, as always. I honestly couldn’t be any other way. It’s just something ingrained in me.
