Lyrics from a band I’ve been getting into more and more these past few weeks. I see a trend in the bands I’ve grown to love more than others (though I do love probably a couple hundred bands at least by now). Green Day. We Came As Romans. Woe, Is Me. Each of these has lyrics I relate to strongly.
Green Day: Growing up with a dark childhood. Finding your way in the dark.

Woe, Is Me: Never giving up. Ignoring those who tell you you can’t.

To live is to try, and a large part of trying is failure. It’s not the win that makes the contest, it’s overcoming the failures – at work, in love, in life in general. If you don’t fail, you don’t try. And if you don’t try, you aren’t living.

Music speaks to our souls…throughout our lives there are songs that resonate with us…sounds like you’ve discovered some of those! I think musicians are the poets of our times!
If we’re halfway intelligent, we’ll learn from our failures…if we lack intelligence, we’ll continue to repeat the actions that lead to failure (well, sometimes we continue to repeat those actions because we’re not paying attention…or we’re crazy…not sure which…maybe both???)

Dang it! I get my butt snowed in, and you two start ganging up on me while my back is turned! I should mail ya both a couple hundred pounds of snow – trust me, I got snow to SPARE!
Well all the half inch of snow WE got melted within the first 15 min of sunshine the next morning. I think Mother Nature is pissed at you, John!

The kid’s a bad influence, John…and what makes you think I need any of your snow? I got more on top of the 11″ I already had last night…just got shoveled out now I’ve got to get out there and do it again…if I could still catch all of the Indiana Hoosiers basketball games, I’d move to Florida in a heartbeat…
